As a side project, I decided to bring Lauma into another world outside of Teyvat. I’ve created a character mod for GTA San Andreas, allowing players to experience this Moonchant Envoy in a completely different setting.
This mod lets you play as Lauma inside the streets of San Andreas—complete with her signature look inspired by her Genshin Impact design. It’s my way of blending two games I love, and I’m excited to finally share it with the community.
Lauma comes from the distant, snow-covered land of Nod-Krai, a region deeply tied to Snezhnaya’s mysterious traditions. Among her people, she holds the title of Moonchant Envoy, representing the ancient order known as the Frostmoon Scions. This secluded group has long dedicated themselves to worshipping the Moon Goddess, performing sacred rituals beneath silver light in hopes of receiving divine guidance.
Yet, the goddess has remained silent for generations. In that silence, Lauma rose to become the bridge between her people and the unseen divine. Her role is not just ceremonial—she embodies the will of the Frostmoon Scions, carrying the weight of their faith wherever she goes.
The name “Lauma” itself draws from old Baltic folklore, where it describes forest spirits or mystical guardians of nature. These beings were often seen as protectors of the wild, sometimes even shape-shifting between human and animal forms. The echoes of this myth live on in her design: antler-like features, garments adorned with natural motifs, and even glimpses of a half-deer transformation shown in early teasers.
Lauma’s story paints her as more than just another character in Teyvat. She is the voice of a forgotten faith, a living reminder of bonds between mortals and the ancient forces of nature. Where the Moon Goddess no longer speaks, Lauma becomes the hymn that fills the silence.
