The character’s full name is T.M. Opera O. In Japanese, it’s written as テイエムオペラオー (Teiemu Opera Ō). In Simplified Chinese, he’s called 帝王歌剧王 (Dìwáng Gējù Wáng), literally “Emperor Opera King.” In Russian fandoms, his name appears as Т.М. Опера О, while in Korean it’s 티엠 오페라 오 (Ti-em Opera O). Globally, fans just call him “Opera O” for short, though in the Japanese fandom he is often affectionately teased as “the overly dramatic star” due to his flamboyant personality.
T.M. Opera O is based on the real-life Japanese racehorse of the same name, who became a living legend by dominating the year 2000 racing season in Japan. He won every major race he entered that year, becoming the first horse in history to sweep all eight major titles in a single season. This historic run earned him the nickname “Million Dollar Horse” and cemented him as one of the greatest in Japanese racing history.
